Comedy of errors

The Comedy of Errors is one of William Shakespeare's earliest plays. It is his shortest and one of his most farcical comedies, with a major part of the humour coming from slapstick and mistaken identity, in addition to puns and word play. The Comedy of Errors (along with The Tempest) is one of only two of Shakespeare's plays to observe the classical unities. It has been adapted for opera, stage, screen and musical theatre.

From the title alone you can already tell what genre of play is this. I guessed that the title is like that because the play is funny because of the mistakes or errors made by the characters. When I understood the play, I learned that my hypothesis is correct. The play was really confusing, at the same time, funny. Funny because of the mistakes the characters have done. There are so many twists in the story that I never thought that will happen which made the play really interesting. I think watching it would be more exciting. I often get confused on the names because the pair of twins has the same name with their twin brother and just the place where they came from was different. But still, I understood the play even with so many confusions and mistakes.

All in all the story was great, another masterpiece by William Shakespeare.

NCAE

I can already see the finish line of my student life. Its seems to be so near but yet so far. It will not take long and I will be already entering the door towards real life with real problems and real struggles. To be ready for this problems, DepED is helds a yearly National Career Assessment Examination(NCAE) for 3rd year high school students.

Jose Rizal once quoted "Ang kabataan ang pag asa ng bayan". NCAE helps to mold student to be the future leaders and . Its helps the students choose what coarse will lead you to success.. Some said that this examination was just useless because these papers can't dictate to us what we are heading towards. But for me, it would.

Knowledge Beyond Books

Intramural is not about competing with others or showing of your skills in sports. Intramural or whats we called "intrams" is more about sportsmanship and enhancing your ability in sports.Through these students can learn things that can not be learned in the books or in the four walls of the class room. Also, this event can help students live a healthy life by exercising and engaging with sports.

Last August our school held the Intramurals 2012 that aims to make the students to be physically fit and have fun together with friends. It is one of the most awaited activity in school, whether or not youre not good in any sport. It is very challenging because we can defeat the higher years and the abilities of students in every year can be compared. If ever we are defeated, we can learn lesson from it. It also tells us that we should practice more and we need to improve our skills. We should not take it negatively because it will not make us any good.

Intramuls is really fun even though we got tired, because we know in oure selves that or abilities have been enhanced.

I AM A FILIPINO AND I LOVE MY LANGUAGE

Every country has its own unique language. It is the language they inherited from their ancestors and was polished as time passed by. In our country, the Filipino language was long prohibited in the days of colonization by Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. Local heroes fought for its sovereignty. They died so they can see their countrymen secure their freedom and be able to speak their own language. But as time passed, different foreign languages drastically spread across the country. Sadly, most of the time our mother tongue was overshadowed by these foreign languages, especially the English language.

The capability to speak English has been the basis of literacy and evidence of the kind of education you have acquired. They say that the English language is the key to success, not only in our own country but also in other parts of the world. That is the reason why all the schools and institutions have English Speaking Campaign (ESC) to train their students in speaking straight English properly.Through this training, their students excel in speaking English, in order to become world class and ready to compete against other nationalities. But on the other hand, as we learn and become fluent in it, we tend to forget something along the way. We, little by little, lose our love for our mother tongue. Filipino language is a big part of us being Filipinos. Unknowingly, we forget how many heroes fought and died so we, and the next generations to come, can enjoy the kind of freedom that we have.

If I had to choose between  mastery of  English or mother tongue, I would happily choose our mother tongue, if only to show my love for my heritage. By choosing it, I can say proudly "Pilipino ako, hindi dahil sa Pilipinas ako pinanganak at mga magulang ko ay Pilipino, kundi dahil mahal ko ang wika ko at ang aking pagkaPilipino ko." However, our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal himself, who was an accomplished linguist, said "Ang hindi magmahal sa sariling wika ay higit pa sa malansang isda." Out of love for country, he proved that one can be an expert in so many languages and still keep his love, not only for his own language but for his heritage as well.

I am proud of being Filipino. And I also believe that learning English or any other language is one way of enriching my being a world class Filipino.

Blindfolded.....

Millions of thoughts run through my mind
Truth of the people where can I find?
I was left out here with no dime
Humans pass by giving no time

The weather seems to be colder
Can't see the day these are over
Will there be tomorrow for us?
I'm so fed up with all this fuss

Even though my eyes were blindfolded
With wonders around I am dumbfounded
If all the signs led me to another place
Will there be a knot that I cannot face?

My warm whispers turned into shouts
My loud shouting brought me cold tears
Hoping  an angel is out there coming
To take away my biggest fears

One true love

Centuries have passed since Shakespeare converted his thoughts into writings as he wrote the very classic love story entitled Romeo and Juliet. Millions of readers fell in love and shed tears as they read this tragic love story. And over time it still belongs to the list of the world's best loved stories. It also has a lot of renditions by the world's greatest authors. If I had a chance to change its ending, it would go like this:

The vial didn't work as expected. Juliet was fast awakened by the roars of excitement in their house as Paris and Friar Lawrence entered. By the time she opened her eyes, she knew that she was doomed. She quickly grabbed the knife and stabbed herself. But before the nails of death reached her chest, her mother and the nurse excitedly entered the room to help her wear the wedding dress. Juliet hid the knife before her mother could see it. For half an hour, she was dressed by her mother and nurse. Finally the door opened, the world has stopped as she walked with elegance and class. She was the most beautiful lass that the world saw, but her beauty was covered by  infinite sadness and mourning. The wedding continued.

Romeo heard about the wedding. He became outrageous. He screamed so loud like the whole world could hear. Insane feeling filled his young mind, as he rushed to the pharmacist who lived nearby. Without thinking, he bought the deadliest poison he could buy and ran straight to the city of Verona. While running, Balthasar, Romeo's dedicated servant, asked him about his plans. Romeo said that he would drink the poison in front of  the Capulet's house as a sign of disrespect to the wedding.

He entered Verona fast but still with great caution. As he ran inside, he came across his father. They were both shocked to see each other. Romeo continued to ran not minding his father. But before he could ran away, his father grabbed his arm crying. They had a long conversation. Romeo confessed to his father that he fell in love and married the daughter of their family arch nemesis. After some explanation, Montague did not hate Romeo, instead he said that he would stand by Romeo's side to stop the marriage that was now happening in the Capulet's house.

Montague ordered some of his men to go with them to the Capulet's house. Romeo shouted all his throat to get the attention of everybody as they arrived. The house was silenced, until Juliet opened her mouth and called Romeo softly. That ignited the chaos inside.

Romeo headed straight to Juliet who was really shocked by what was happening. They felt love and caress as they hold hands in the midst of this crisis. It was like the longest moment in their life while they ran fast away from the chaos. But this moment was cut short by the Prince army. They were shooting at Romeo. Juliet accidentally caught the bullet intended for Romeo. It hit Juliet right into her heart. The army ere stopped shooting. Juliet fell unto Romeo's arms and said her last I love you to him. Flashbacks rushed to Juliet's  mind. She remembered it all, when their eyes first met, when they first kissed, when they vowed to love each other, when destiny separated them, when they held hands through crisis. Droplets of rain came down from heaven as Juliet finally closed her eyes and rested.

Romeo was silenced as the rain continued to fall. Rage filled his tantalizing eyes. He dropped the cold body of Juliet and opened the poison he bought. Without thinking he drank the poison, leaving no drops inside the bottle. He felt little bit dizzy. His body, little by little, became green and bigger. He became 10 times bigger than the biggest person in the world. He transformed into a HULK! He became outrageous, destroying everything in his sight. He killed the whole army of the prince.

Hours later, after he destroyed almost everything, he lifted Juliet and headed to Friar Lawrence. When they reached Friar Lawrence, he laid Juliet on the ground and for the last time, he looked at the beautiful face of Juliet. Tears from Romeo dropped to her face as he kissed him. Shortly, Romeo died due to some severe wounds he had while in the Hulk state. The rains became stronger as Romeo left this world together with Juliet.

I wish Shakespeare could read this. I also hope he would tell me what he thinks of my version. I wish  he liked it, the same way I liked his masterpiece. :)

All I Need is You.

Have you ever imagined life without family? You'll probably say no, because that would be very miserable. Without a family, we will never understand the feeling of loving someone or loving somebody in return. Family plays a big role in someone's life. Everybody's life revolves in their family. From the day we were born, to the day we lay to eternal rest, we are surrounded by our family. They are the ones who continuously, lovingly and unconditionally form and guide us in this journey we call life. The family is the reason why someone thinks and acts the way they do. They form our personality as we grow up. They are behind each of our successes and failures in life.

My family, like most of us, is very loving and supportive . They are there with me when I chase monsters in my room. They are there when I am having trips under the moon and when I am wishing upon shooting stars. They trained the dragon inside me and changed it into a loving dog. They are the reasons why I smile even when problems have eaten my teeth away. They are the reasons why I wake up every morning. They are the bullets in my gun whenever I go into any war. They always bring out the best in me. They are my inspiration and source of strength.

Family comes in every form, shape or color of people. It doesn't matter whatever race or wherever, a person comes from or what kind of blood flows in their vein. When somebody accepts who you are, that person is already considered a part of your family. Everyone whom we love and love us back is family. When there is peace within you and you feel love all around, you are with your family. In this world, we form a one big happy family.

To my Dear Father..

It's been fourteen years since I first felt the caress of his loving hands and the ceaseless love for me and my family. Fourteen years of sacrifices, but never planned to stop. He is a big hearted man but very strict when needed. He lets me fly free and learn things independently. But whenever the wind seems to be unfriendly, he will always be at my side to guide my wings and help me fly straight. He makes impossible things possible for me. He helps me draw my future and paint it with his palette of colors. Whenever he sees me reaching the stars,he will carry me with his shoulders to help me to get closer to it. He always lift me up when Im down and forgotten. That's my father.

Years, months, days, and hours have passed, but he never stopped working to sustain the family needs. I never heard him complain about it. Instead of buying things for himself, he would save the money for my and my brother's future. He does his best to give the best quality life he can give us. He always protects me and my family from those who want to hurt us. He does everything for us to be safe all the time. Thats why he's the best father for me.

Daddy, I've always thanked God for giving me a father like you. I want to thank you for being the stairs for me towards the success and glory and for being there when I need a friend beside me. Don't forget that we are also here for you. We, your family, can also be your friend when you need some. You'll forever be my father. I love you :))

Junior Life...

New school year, one more step closer to the finish line of this perplexing race. I'm running far behind the shadows of those who are in the leading position. New teachers, new set of classmates, new challenges to face, but the same race. However, as I pass a new lap of the race, questions and doubts fill my tired mind. Can I survive another year after I've nearly fallen in the first two years? Will the changes I made in myself be enough? or did I really change? Can I reach the rising expectations of my parents, teachers, classmates and friends? I really don't know.

Rumors say that the third year of the race is the hardest one. It is like the Death Zone of Mt. Everest, where most of the hikers lost their lives due to the exceedingly low temperature and oxygen. That means mountain-high assignments and projects will test my stamina and determination as a student. Stricter teachers await my unsteady attitude of being a happy go lucky. I MUST qualify based on their standards, or they will have no choice but to kick me out of the game. But I know that whenever I slow down and seem to have a problem, my friends and family will come to my side as an ally and help me fix it. They will inspire me and be the reason for me to continue the race.

I'll do my best to surpass the challenges that will come ahead. I will burn every drop of fuel that remains unused in my tank. I will make them realize that I exist and I'm going to prove that I can be a big threat in this race. Together with God , family and friends, I'm pretty confident that this year will be a successful one. :))
