One true love

Centuries have passed since Shakespeare converted his thoughts into writings as he wrote the very classic love story entitled Romeo and Juliet. Millions of readers fell in love and shed tears as they read this tragic love story. And over time it still belongs to the list of the world's best loved stories. It also has a lot of renditions by the world's greatest authors. If I had a chance to change its ending, it would go like this:

The vial didn't work as expected. Juliet was fast awakened by the roars of excitement in their house as Paris and Friar Lawrence entered. By the time she opened her eyes, she knew that she was doomed. She quickly grabbed the knife and stabbed herself. But before the nails of death reached her chest, her mother and the nurse excitedly entered the room to help her wear the wedding dress. Juliet hid the knife before her mother could see it. For half an hour, she was dressed by her mother and nurse. Finally the door opened, the world has stopped as she walked with elegance and class. She was the most beautiful lass that the world saw, but her beauty was covered by  infinite sadness and mourning. The wedding continued.

Romeo heard about the wedding. He became outrageous. He screamed so loud like the whole world could hear. Insane feeling filled his young mind, as he rushed to the pharmacist who lived nearby. Without thinking, he bought the deadliest poison he could buy and ran straight to the city of Verona. While running, Balthasar, Romeo's dedicated servant, asked him about his plans. Romeo said that he would drink the poison in front of  the Capulet's house as a sign of disrespect to the wedding.

He entered Verona fast but still with great caution. As he ran inside, he came across his father. They were both shocked to see each other. Romeo continued to ran not minding his father. But before he could ran away, his father grabbed his arm crying. They had a long conversation. Romeo confessed to his father that he fell in love and married the daughter of their family arch nemesis. After some explanation, Montague did not hate Romeo, instead he said that he would stand by Romeo's side to stop the marriage that was now happening in the Capulet's house.

Montague ordered some of his men to go with them to the Capulet's house. Romeo shouted all his throat to get the attention of everybody as they arrived. The house was silenced, until Juliet opened her mouth and called Romeo softly. That ignited the chaos inside.

Romeo headed straight to Juliet who was really shocked by what was happening. They felt love and caress as they hold hands in the midst of this crisis. It was like the longest moment in their life while they ran fast away from the chaos. But this moment was cut short by the Prince army. They were shooting at Romeo. Juliet accidentally caught the bullet intended for Romeo. It hit Juliet right into her heart. The army ere stopped shooting. Juliet fell unto Romeo's arms and said her last I love you to him. Flashbacks rushed to Juliet's  mind. She remembered it all, when their eyes first met, when they first kissed, when they vowed to love each other, when destiny separated them, when they held hands through crisis. Droplets of rain came down from heaven as Juliet finally closed her eyes and rested.

Romeo was silenced as the rain continued to fall. Rage filled his tantalizing eyes. He dropped the cold body of Juliet and opened the poison he bought. Without thinking he drank the poison, leaving no drops inside the bottle. He felt little bit dizzy. His body, little by little, became green and bigger. He became 10 times bigger than the biggest person in the world. He transformed into a HULK! He became outrageous, destroying everything in his sight. He killed the whole army of the prince.

Hours later, after he destroyed almost everything, he lifted Juliet and headed to Friar Lawrence. When they reached Friar Lawrence, he laid Juliet on the ground and for the last time, he looked at the beautiful face of Juliet. Tears from Romeo dropped to her face as he kissed him. Shortly, Romeo died due to some severe wounds he had while in the Hulk state. The rains became stronger as Romeo left this world together with Juliet.

I wish Shakespeare could read this. I also hope he would tell me what he thinks of my version. I wish  he liked it, the same way I liked his masterpiece. :)
